Waiau is surrounded by different activity attractions. It is located on two of South Island tourist routes, however, there is no much attraction in the town that may encourage tourists to stop over. Introducing tourism to Waiau may stabilize economic status of the town . There is a pottential to create a unique tourism attraction in Waiau that will gain its fame to be a must visit locatio in New Zealand.

Waiau is Located on a loop wine and dining experience route on South Island, yet there are no vineyards in Waiau itself. There is a pottential to increase interest in tourists to visit Waiau by intriducing a unique wine and dining experience to Waiau.
