A recent Herald article profiling the new caps says Jordan headed into the Crusaders via a well-worn education path - Lincoln University. When including other scholars names in the mix, such as Richie McCaw, that could be described as a path towards even higher honours.
Another recent Lincoln alumnus All Black was Dominic Bird, while Mitchell Dunshea, Tom Sanders and Jack Stratton are all part of the Crusaders.
However, the scholarship successes are not limited to rugby.
Former scholar Olivia Merry recently claimed a Commonwealth Games gold in hockey. Current student, Kristy Havill is a world championship silver medallist as a ladies team member in clay target shooting and there are many other future stars working their way through the programme.
However, for the moment it’s congratulations to the newest members of our All Black roll of honour, and wishing them good luck for the upcoming series.
