Black Fern Kendra Cocksedge presented one of her jerseys to the University yesterday at a special Council ceremony.
She was among a trio of alumni receiving Lincoln University Medals which recognise long-term meritorious voluntary service and support to the fabric or reputation of Lincoln University.
Also receiving Medals were former Council member Peter Chamberlain, who remains on the University’s Animal Ethics Committee, and Lincoln University rugby coach George Haddow, whose seven year commitment to the club was recognised.
Originally from Taranaki, Kendra moved to Canterbury to study at Lincoln University, and was the 2015 World Rugby Women’s Player of the Year.
She made made her test debut in 2007 at 19 and is now the most experienced member of the Black Ferns backline with 47 caps. She is also a skilled Sevens player and was part of the squad that won the inaugural Women’s Sevens World Series in 2013.
