Habitat loss .ana 0estruction of intertidal wetlands i tbe main survival threat to migratory bird's species around the world. The Bar-Tailed Godwit tracks resources to seasonally exploit profitable habitats, exchanging cold winters of western Alaska for warmer New Zealand summers in the Avon Heathcote Estuary. This intertidal wetland's ability to support migratory bird species is being affected through natural water inundation processes and human activity resulting in habitat destruction and overall habitat loss.

Can the Dynamic Avon-Heathcote Estuary's South's shore increase Bar-Tailed Godwit habitat that accommodates rising sea levels, facilitates water inundation processes and co-exists with recreational human activity?
