Three of the eight Aorangi regional finalists are ex-Lincoln men and they will be hyped by the knowledge that in the contest's Grand Final Lincoln degree and diploma holders have won 15 of the 30 winners' titles since the start of the contest in 1969, and seven of the 10 titles since 1990.

The three Lincoln-qualified regional finalists for Aorangi are – Matthew Hicks of Mid-Canterbury (Bachelor of Agricultural Science with Honours), Stephen Jack of Timaru (Bachelor of Commerce in Agriculture), and Callum Kingan of North Otago (Bachelor of Commerce in Valuation and Property Management).

The practical session will be held in the North Otago A & P Showgrounds and the evening session will be in the Oamaru Opera House, Thames Street. At stake for the regional winner is a prize package worth $9095.

The Grand Final is in Christchurch over 6-8 July.
