The Landscape No. 54 Winter 1994.

This last issue is undeniably an interesting mixture. It looks forward with Simon Swaffie|d’s article, “Future shock: the need for continuing professional development” and offers a challenge with his second article “Publish or perish..."

“Who Framed the New Zealand Landscape” by Jacky Bowring, provides a fascinating insight into the significance of the window in paintings by New Zealand women artists, and then interprets this in a broader historical context.

“Unexpected Landscapes" by Val Kirby, explores introspectively, the individual feelings, emotions and contradictions that are so much a part of experiencing landscape, with an evocative sequence of images from the North Yorkshire Moors, to Paris and finally, to South Westland.

Alan Titchener in his President’s Column confronts the demise of The Landscape but also looks at the future of our profession in New Zealand and the changes we must positively face if we are to continue to grow.
