Teaching the new course - Frank Boffa

“Thrown in the deep end”

Frank Boffa helped Charlie to set up and then teach the DipLA course from 1969 to 1972. Frank had completed a Dip Hort at Lincoln under Charlie’s tutorship and worked as the grounds development foreman at Lincoln College in 1963/1964. He, like Charlie, became inspired by the concept of landscape architecture. He travelled to the USA where he completed a BLA at the University of Georgia in 1968. Later that year, Charlie invited him to return to New Zealand and help teach the new course at Lincoln.
