The concept is to have a spatial composition that never seems static. The design aims at dynamic change rather than at a finished picture. For this reason, self-organising flexible open spaces are proposed to support hydrological dynamics+ the emergence of social + cultural demands over time. Living water of the canal is also presented as a source that animates these open spaces. In this case, the character of the townscape will subsequently evolve diachronic (evolution over time) + synchronic (constituent layers).
