Vision: To see St Albans increase its vibrancy and see it become a more sun smart school. Have their students and teachers be in an environment that minimizes UV radiation and provides a thermally comfortable Zone all year round.

Goals: To incorporate best practice sun smart guidelines and protect the students from ultraviolet radiation supplying them with a thermally comfortable environment.

Objectives: 

• Provide students with options for shade in proportion to children scale so they don’t feel
• overwhelmed.
• Provide shade for social comfort though natural and built structures.
• Provide shade for students in active, passive and transitional zones.
• Reduce reflectivity though different surface materials and colours.
