    Sergeant Cecil Hillier Green was the only son of Mrs Green, Colombo Street, Christchurch. He was educated at Christ's College, and subsequently entered this College in 1915. He enlisted in the Expeditionary Force as soon as he was of age, and left for the Front with the 28th Reinforcements. In 1917 Sergeant Green was reported as having the position of Section Sergeant with "C" Company of the 28th Reinforcements. Source: Canterbury Agricultural College Magazine. June 1917. p27.
