    About

Lance-Corporal Geoffrey Hilton Beale was the only son of Mr E. C. Beale, of Auckland. He was educated at Mount Eden Collegiate School, St. John's Collegiate School, Epsom, and Auckland Grammar School. He went through his three years' course at this College, gaining his diploma here in 1914. He followed up farming pursuits, and at the time of volunteering with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, was managing his father's farm at Waimaku, on the Kaipara line. He left New Zealand as a Sergeant in the 28th Reinforcements. He was in his 25th year when he died from wounds received in action. Canterbury Agricultural College Magazine, May 1919, p611.
