The Lincoln University Art Collection, which consists of over 280 works owned by Lincoln University, now has its own Wikipedia page, thanks to the efforts of our own Wikipedian in Residence in December.
Dr Mike Dickison spent three weeks at Lincoln’s Library, Teaching and Learning department to make the research carried out by staff and students even more accessible, and to increase the University’s online impact.
The new Collections page is among the many tasks he completed.
Dr Dickison was formerly employed by the US-based Wikimedia Foundation, which runs Wikipedia, as New Zealand Wikipedian at Large from June 2018 to July 2019, helping organisations throughout the country engage better with Wikipedia and related open-knowledge projects.
The collection owes its existence to two Lincoln University faculty members, Dick Lucas and Mike Smetham, both lecturers in the Plant Science department.
