A competition seeking new ideas to transform the food, fibre and agritech sectors in Canterbury is proving popular.

The Food, Fibre and Agritech Supernode Challenge, presented by ChristchurchNZ, KiwiNet, AgResearch and the Canterbury Mayoral Fund, has pushed its close date for applications to 14 February to accommodate an overwhelming number of applicants.

It seeks to accelerate ideas for disruptive solutions to some of New Zealand’s most pressing challenges and has a total prize pool of $130,000.

Brought to you by our own B.linc Innovation, plus the UC Centre for Entrepreneurship and ThincLab Canterbury, the challenge calls for innovations that have the potential for both commercial success and positive environmental outcomes.

Entries could include ideas for new products, on-farm automation solutions or ways of reducing the cost of production.

    Check out the details here.

Many thanks to these sponsors: ChristchurchNZ, KiwiNet, AgResearch, Sprout Agritech, Foodsouth, Canterbury Mayoral Forum, and New Zealand Natural Fibres.
