Lincoln has had another degree approved to participate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) University Affiliation Program.
There are only 635 universities globally that have been approved to join this elite group.
The Master of Business (Finance) joins the Bachelor of Commerce, approved in March, making Lincoln one of only three of the universities in New Zealand to have both undergraduate and postgraduate programs approved.
To be part of the program Lincoln has embedded the CFA’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct into its degree curriculum, as well as the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK).
Associate Professor in Finance, Dr Sazali Abidin, said being an Affiliated University signals to students and to employers that their curriculum is closely tied to the practice of investment management and is helpful to students preparing for the CFA® Program exams.
The CFA Institute is a global association for investment management professionals and the CFA® credential is described as the gold standard in the investment industry.
Lincoln University's Master of Business (Finance) is an advanced postgraduate qualification for students who have completed a Bachelor’s degree.
Its graduates gain a perspective on finance in New Zealand and international contexts, with reference to sustainability, agribusiness, entrepreneurship, innovation and commercialisation. It is a taught master's programme consisting only of coursework. It can be completed over 12 months and there is no thesis requirement.
