Covid-19 disruptions meant no silverware was awarded after Lincoln University beat Technical 53-44 in Tuesday's final premier netball match of 2020, but their top of the table finish is still being celebrated.
Technical went into the game unbeaten, and they handed out Lincoln’s only loss, so it was a well-scripted showdown.
The sides were level at the first break, 12-12, but Lincoln were able to keep their nose ahead throughout the rest of the game
Lincoln University coach, Rachel Stead said, 'We had been planning for this game for the last month and knew what we needed to do to counteract Technical and their style of play. We also were very clear about what our strengths were and how we would play the game to maximise them.'
She added it was a whole team effort and all 11 players played a huge role in the win.
Congratulations to the team and coaches, it is another great sporting success for Lincoln, in a trying year for all the codes.
