New Student Liaison team member, Dave Catherwood, already knows Lincoln well.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and a Master of Science in Food Biochemistry from here, as well as a strong family connection, with two brothers earning degrees too.
Dave’s also a competitive runner, last August taking on the challenge of the New Zealand Cross Country Championships.
He’ll be visiting schools in Taranaki, Tasman- Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, and North Canterbury, as well as Christchurch and Kaikoura in his role.
He has a passion for Lincoln University, and its place in developing graduates that “have a real impact on New Zealand’s physical, social/cultural and economic landscape”.
“I loved my time at Lincoln, enjoyed the smaller classes and labs, as well as the greater access to lecturers and tutors, and of course the campus setting.
“I’m really looking forward to helping prospective Lincoln University students become informed about the offerings here at Lincoln, and navigate the process of course selection and enrolment.”
Born and raised on a family sheep farm in Darfield, he has worked in agronomy research and on farms, as well as in public health promotion.
When he’s not running you might catch him on the river, in turn trying to catch trout and salmon.
Welcome aboard.
