Lincoln University is supporting Canterbury’s coaches getting a few tips from the top to apply to their own roles.
Dale Stevenson, the coach of world champion shot putter Tom Walsh, spoke at a Lincoln University sponsored breakfast this morning, run by the Canterbury Coaches Collective, a group organising a regional pilot sports programme working with High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ).
HPSNZ’s regional manager is Lincoln alumnus, and former sports scholar and Black Cap, Andrew Ellis.
The event was an opportunity to connect with other top Canterbury performance coaches and create networks to build and strengthen the skills of the collective coaching community.
The Collective’s aim is to establish a programme of professional development opportunities for performance coaches.
Lincoln has a comprehensive sport and recreation programme complemented by a sports and exercise laboratory.
