Srijith Madhusoodanan has always been interested in sports and he had a goal to work in the field.
The keen footballer has now put one in the back of the net, saying choosing to do a Master of Sport and Recreation Management degree at Lincoln was the “best decision”.
After finishing his study in June, he is now proudly employed as a manager for Selwyn District Council looking after all the sport and recreational activities in its community facilities, including its administration and finance and customer engagement.
The former international student from India said the applied nature, and the teaching methodology, impressed him the most at Lincoln.
“The biggest difference between the New Zealand and Indian education systems was that I really had to learn to be independent at Lincoln and I was encouraged to use my initiative.
“A highlight was an event I organised last year, it really gave me the confidence to approach the job market. “
“Some advice I will give students is to tailor made your CV and cover letter to the role, and I only had to do a couple of interviews to land this job. Do your homework and put in the work.”
He describes Lincoln as “classy, elegant and bold”.
“I enjoyed my studies in Lincoln University and will cherish it forever,” he said.
