Students can now access Lincoln University updates on the COVID-19 situation on radio.
Lincoln University’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bruce McKenzie is broadcasting on "STeudaemonia: International students living well" a radio show by, for and about international students in Canterbury on Plains FM.
Lincoln has a large contingent of International students and the broadcast is another channel to supplement the ways it is communicating to students about the evolving COVID-19 situation, which includes email, through its website and social media.
The show has eight Lincoln students involved as broadcasters, and dozens of other international students from institutions across Canterbury.
Eudaemonia is a Greek word meaning happiness, wellness and flourishing and the show’s producers hopes the show helps international students “make the absolute most of their stay in New Zealand”.
The programme has offered Lincoln the opportunity to provide the updates during the lockdown period, but normally deals with other topics relevant to International students such as how to meet Kiwis, understanding New Zealand English, why they chose NZ as a place to study, mental health, international music and even how to deal with the Christchurch winter.
It airs on Sundays at 3-5pm on Plains FM 96.9. Please tune in for more updates.
