Lincoln University alumni are filling the Grand Final places in the FMG Young Farmer of the Year contest in 2019.
Georgie Lindsay, Matt McRae and Alan Harvey will be among those battling it out in the iconic event, of which Lincoln University is a supporting partner.
Georgie claimed the Tasman Young Farmer title, Matt the Otago-Southland Young Farmer of the Year and Alan the Aorangi spot.
Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Honours) graduate and shepherd Georgie is one of only four woman nationally to ever qualify for the Grand Final.
She’s also the first woman from the region in 51 years to make it through to the event.
Wyndham sheep and beef farmer Matt McRae completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Agriculture) at Lincoln. Before moving home to the family farm, he spent three years working as a banker.
Alan also has a Bachelor of Agricultural Science with Honours. It was his fourth regional final and first time making it through to the main event for the agricultural consultant for Agri Planz based in Oamaru.
The final is in Hawkes Bay 5 to 6 July
