Lincoln students from around the world had their academic efforts celebrated at this week’s New Zealand Scholarships Completion Ceremony.
The event both recognises and farewells the scholars, as they are either completing, or close to completing their Lincoln qualifications and returning to their home country.
NZ Scholars are from a range of countries, and include scholarships funded by the New Zealand Government, and managed by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT).
Seventeen MFAT managed scholars attended, while two were Mingma Norbu Sherpa Memorial Scholars also took part in the ceremony.
Mingma Norbu scholars are always from Nepal and the MFAT scholars completing were from Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Kenya, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Jordan, Tuvalu, Costa Rica, St Lucia, Indonesia, and Ethiopia.
There were special awards presented to four students who achieved highly academically, or made outstanding achievements personally whilst they were here, or both.
Lincoln University currently has 78 NZ scholars from 31 countries
