The Lincoln University Students’ Association (LUSA) celebrated its 100th birthday with a special dinner last week.
Over 80 guests, including former student presidents, executive members, University Council and Management representatives, former Chancellors, and others enjoyed an evening of food, speeches, reminiscences, and entertainment.
Former Chancellor, Margaret Austin, made a surprise presentation to outgoing LUSA President Kristy Havill of a Lincoln University rugby jersey she had been given by students to wear at her final Council meeting in 2004.
Former LUSA President Ivy Harper opened the celebration with a mihi whakatau and karakia, followed by welcomes from Pro-Chancellor James McWha on behalf of the Council and Kristy.
The night also included the unveiling of a plaque marking the University Council’s recognition of LUSA’s contributions to campus buildings and facilities.
Happy birthday LUSA
