Acting Vice-Chancellor Bruce McKenzie delivered an optimistic address at today’s Lincoln University Graduation in the Lincoln Events Centre.
He told the 570 graduates, and their families and friends, that Lincoln "had now returned to an enrolment figure virtually matching where we were when the earthquakes struck in 2010 and 2011".
Researcher rankings had also improved, Lincoln was meeting goals set by the Government for tertiary institutions, especially in boosting the achievement of Māori and Pasifika, and plans were in place to advance campus development.
He also acknowledged ‘’with a heavy heart “ the posthumous awards given this year to two victims of the Christchurch terror attacks, as well as a student who died in an accident last year.
He told the new generation of graduates to “Go out into the world from here, and do yourselves and your University proud”.
