Regular Country Calendar viewers might have thought Lincoln University was having its own series on the New Zealand television stalwart over the last several weeks.
Our alumni and students have been featured on screen as they apply what they have learnt in their degrees on the family farm, as well as addressing an important rural issue.
All of the episodes are available on TVNZ on demand.
Last week’s episode saw student Cameron Ravenswood venture into sheep milking on his family farm, moving them into the flavoured milk market for sports nutrition and recovery.

Future Leader Scholar Elle Perriam’s journey after founding Will To Live organisation, to tackle rural mental health. Part of her work is visiting farm communities around the country to encourage rural people to take better care of their own and fellow farm worker's mental health.

Recent graduate Jess Hill has convinced her parents to start processing and delivering some of their own milk, straight from the farm, again based on what she learnt at Lincoln. She is creating extra income, and as her dad says, adding value to the farm and creating herself a role on it. Jess was also a future leader scholar at Lincoln, and involved in charity work in Africa.

Wonderful to see these worthy current and former students celebrated for their efforts, their time at Lincoln contributing to growing their knowledge and skills, and coupled with their enthusiasm and spirit, making a difference for themselves, their families, and their communities, in the land-based sector.
