Sixteen Australian secondary students will be enjoying the pleasures of spring on the Lincoln campus next week.
They are part of the University’s annual Land the Trip, where Lincoln brings keen students from across the Tasman (and from Auckland, though no one is crossing the Bombays this year), to show them what Lincoln can offer them as a leading land-based university.
The group, from Tasmania, Western Australia and Victoria, have a busy schedule for their five-day visit.
As well as being immersed in a park-like campus in full-bloom they will be visiting a North Canterbury farm, as well as Lincoln’s own Ashley Deane Farm. They will hear from their possible future lecturers just what studying at Lincoln entails and the wide range of subjects they can choose from, as well as the many varied careers it can lead to.
They will also be hoisted up the Christchurch Gondola and soaked in the Hanmer hot pools, with a couple of movies included for some down time.
Australian students choosing Lincoln will not only benefit from world class teaching, but they only pay domestic fees and there are scholarships available to help with costs, and Lincoln has many alumni in Australia who meet regularly.
Hopefully we will see all 16 alumni of Land the Trip back at Lincoln in 2020.
